An opening rooted in collaboration
The inauguration brought together institutional partners, hospitality professionals and local stakeholders.
The ribbon cutting brought together Gautier Richard, Managing Director France at BE WTR, Jonathan McNicol, President France at BE WTR, Mike Hecker, Founder of BE WTR, Saïd Wedherfi, Production Sites Manager for the South of France, and Hervé Paul, Vice President for Water, Sanitation and Energy at the Metropolitan Executive Board, and Mayor of Saint Martin du Var.
Guests were invited to visit the bottling site, discover the BiG technology and join a cocktail reception, offering a concrete insight into how circular bottled water is produced, locally and at scale.
During the event, Gautier Richard summed up the ambition behind the project:
"We are opening this facility in Nice one year after the opening of our Paris site, with the same objective: to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional bottled water. We therefore developed this new production unit in the heart of the city, in order to provide locally bottled water to restaurants and hotels across the Nice area"
A local bottling site designed for hospitality
BiG 407 Nice is dedicated to the production of sealed, reusable glass bottles of BE WTR still and sparkling filtered water.
Water is sourced from the local network, filtered using BE WTR’s patented technology, then bottled directly on-site before being delivered to nearby hotels and restaurants.
This approach combines reliable supply, shorter transport routes, and a bottled water offer aligned with today’s expectations around locality and sustainability.
With a production capacity of up to 1.2 million bottles per year, the site is designed to support the needs of 4- and 5-star hotels, premium restaurants and destination venues across Nice, Monaco and the surrounding area.
Already serving leading establishments
Several hospitality partners are already benefiting from this new local bottling site, including Le Couvent Nice, one of the first venues to adopt this format.
By choosing locally produced bottled water, these venues reduce transport related impact while offering guests a water service that reflects the identity of the region and the values of responsible hospitality.
