Our brain is composed of 85 % water. So, if you aim to perform at top, you better stay hydrated. It is easy to forget to drink when you are concentrated at work, but it is recommended that you indulge six to nine glasses of water a day outside meals. Drink water to…
Dehydration can impact cognitive functions and mood, which may lead to a state of fatigue, loss of memory and difficulties to concentrate. Not a big problem, you might think. But when scientists from Loughborough University studied dehydration and driving ability, the results where shocking.
On average, the participants made 47 driving errors while normally hydrated – but the number rose to 101 when they had only consumed 25 ml of water an hour (instead of recommended 200 ml). The level of mistakes was actually at pair with drivers who had consumed the legal limit of alcohol!
When you drink water, you flush out the environmental toxins you have in your body. It goes without saying that for this drinking is not the whole answer, the quality of water is also essential. BE WTR maximises your ordinary tap water. Thanks to the BE WTR dispensers and filter system, eventual impurities, like microplastics, are reduced – leaving important minerals in.
Water also helps you maintain a steady body temperature, keeps your skin moist and enables the regulation of blood sugar levels. So be nice to your body – drink water. And always make sure it is the best possible water available.
Some recommendations set the daily requirement at 1.5 L per day. In reality, water requirements depend on a number of factors, such as the climate, your level of physical activity and even your state of health. The daily water requirement therefore can reach 2.5 L per day, depending on the season and your lifestyle.
Make drinking easy – always have water at hand
At work, we often forget to drink. Create habits: each morning, go to the BE WTR station, fill up your bottle or glass, and keep it close to you during the day. This allows you to keep hydrated without even realizing it. Researchers have shown that it takes 21 days to form a new habit, so the daily goal of staying hydrated can easily and naturally be reached. Get into the habit of having a bottle of water to hand, during your meetings, your travel and – of course- your meals.
